New Canaan, CT, July 30, 1998 - The general partners of American Healthcare Partners, L.P. ("AHP") are pleased to announce the addition of Jan Andrew Buck to AHP's Advisory Board, effective immediately.
Mr. Buck has over two decades of business, advisory and transactional experience in the healthcare and life sciences industry and for more than five years has provided strategic advisory services to large and small companies in all sectors of the industry including pharmaceuticals, medical devices and equipment, biotechnology, healthcare providers and information systems. Mr. Buck has led and advised on major strategic initiatives for multinational pharmaceutical corporations as well as providing implementation services in the development of strategic alliances, new business ventures, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Mr. Buck's industry experience includes that of Corporate Development Vice President of Bristol-Myers Squibb and Legal Vice President of Squibb Corporation where, in addition to conceiving, implementing and managing numerous projects, he successfully structured global acquisition transactions, strategic alliances, technology transfers and venture investments, including the merger of Bristol-Myers and Squibb Corporation. Mr. Buck has also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Creative Biomolecules, Inc., a development-stage biotechnology company which has been a leader in the field of tissue regeneration and morphogenesis.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Buck was associated with Dewey, Ballantine, Bushby, Palmer & Wood, a leading Wall Street law firm.
Mr. Buck graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and received his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University Law School where he was Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and Editor, Columbia Journal of Transactional Law. He also served in the U.S. Navy as Legal Officer of the Sixth Fleet Flagship in Italy.
With the addition of Mr. Buck, AHP,s Advisory Board now totals twelve business executives and academic researchers who have exemplary records of management and technical achievements in the healthcare and life sciences field.
American Healthcare Partners is a New Canaan, CT based venture capital partnership targeting to raise $100 million to make private equity investments in the healthcare industry. The fund will focus on various private companies in the areas of medical devices and equipment, drug discovery and development, inforintics, clinical diagnostics and healthcare services.
